First, relief
Pain
Calm the pain down.
Hands-on work takes the edge off the injured tissue, and you get straight answers about which parts of your day are making it worse, starting your very first visit.
What We Treat
The lift that went wrong. The shift you finished anyway because nobody else could. Getting you back to the job you actually do starts with a cause-first evaluation, not a guess.

Why It Happens
A work injury is almost never just the moment it happened. It’s usually some mix of four culprits: a load or a reach that asked more of the tissue than it had left that day. Repetition, the same motion at the same angle, shift after shift. An older injury that got worked around instead of rebuilt, so something nearby has been covering for it. And the job itself, the height of the surface, the weight of the tool, the hours on your feet, which does not change just because you are sore.
A cause-first evaluation sorts out which of those is actually driving it, and what your body can handle right now versus what your job will ask of you next month. We also coordinate with your primary care doctor, your orthopedic doctor and your insurance company, so everyone involved is working from the same plan instead of four different versions of it.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint, and you work it one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist, every visit. Here’s what the four phases look like on the way back to full duty.
First, relief
Pain
Hands-on work takes the edge off the injured tissue, and you get straight answers about which parts of your day are making it worse, starting your very first visit.
Then, motion
Prime
We restore the range you lost while you were guarding it, and retrain the mechanics that put the load in the wrong place to begin with.
Then, capacity
Perform
Lifting, carrying, reaching overhead, standing a full shift: strengthening is aimed at the demands you are actually going back to, not a generic list.
Last, staying power
Prevent
Your mechanics get tested under real load, and you leave knowing how to protect the same spot through a long week: that’s the endpoint, not just another appointment.
Action Rehab is unlike the other traditional outpatient rehabs to provide massage with a small amount of exercise. At Action Rehab, the therapists provide very detailed evaluation, specific treatment education, and individually guide each patient to their best recovery.

I initially had difficulty walking in my latest flare up and had to take off work for a long period of time
and now I was able to safely return to work with improved mobility and stability.
Questions, Answered
Hawaii allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can start with us. A work injury usually has more people in the loop than a regular visit, and requirements vary by claim, so call us at (808) 597-1555 and we’ll tell you what to bring. From there we coordinate with your primary care doctor, your orthopedic doctor and your insurance company, so you are not the one carrying every message between offices.
Your work status is decided by you and your doctor, not by us. What we do is make the picture clear enough for that decision: what the injury actually is, which parts of your job are aggravating it right now, and what you can handle safely today. Then the plan is built toward the real demands of your role, the lifting, the reaching, the hours on your feet, so going back is a step you have trained for rather than a day you hope goes well.
We do. Coordinating between your primary care doctor, your orthopedic doctor and your insurance company is part of how this clinic works, and patients have said so in their own reviews. You still get the clinical hour you came for, one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist, every visit. You just do not have to spend it repeating yourself to three offices.
