You talk. We listen, in private.
Leaks, pelvic pain, pressure, a core that never came back after birth. These are physical problems with physical causes, and you can say them out loud here.
What It Is
Your pelvic floor is a layer of muscle at the base of your pelvis. It holds your bladder and bowel closed until you decide otherwise, it supports what sits above it, and it works with your breathing and your abdominals. Like any other muscle, it can be too weak, too tight, or poorly coordinated.
Pelvic floor therapy treats it as exactly that: a muscle problem with a cause worth finding. We find the cause first, explain it in plain language, then build a plan with an endpoint. One-on-one with a licensed physical therapist, every visit.
Dr. Simone Iriarte, PT, DPT, is the clinic’s pelvic floor physical therapist. She has worked with pelvic floor dysfunction for several years and continues to take courses in it. You are not explaining any of this to someone who has never heard it before.
You set the pace, every visit
What It Helps
Most of it is common, physical, and nobody’s fault. All of it is worth naming.

Only as much as you decide to. You can write it down, you can use the words you actually use, and you can stop a conversation at any point. None of it is new to us and none of it is awkward on our end. We need enough to find the cause. You set the pace for the rest.
No. A pelvic floor that has been like this for years is still muscle, and muscle still responds to the right work. Nothing about waiting closes the door. You were busy holding everything else up. The plan starts from where your body is now.
Hawaii allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can book with us directly. If a doctor is already involved, we coordinate with them, and we bill insurance and work with your insurance company on your behalf. Call us at (808) 597-1555 and we can talk it through before you book.
