About Dr. Cindy Oania
Dr. Cindy Oania is a physical therapist and the owner of Action Rehab Physical Therapy in Kakaʻako. She trained at Pacific University Oregon.
The letters after her name are the part worth reading, because they rarely sit together on one person. Here is what each one means for you:
- OCS: board certified orthopedic clinical specialist. Joints, muscles, tendons, and the mechanics behind how you move.
- PWCE: Physical Work Capacity Evaluator. Measuring what your body can safely handle on the job, the testing behind return-to-work and job-screening decisions.
- CPT: certified personal trainer. The strength work that keeps the fix from quietly coming undone.
One person can look at the orthopedic problem, what your work asks of your body, and the strength underneath both. You tell the story once, to the person who treats you.
What care with Cindy looks like
It opens with a cause-first evaluation. Not a guess at the sore spot, an answer to why it started and what keeps feeding it, in plain language you can repeat to your family.
From there, care is one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist, every visit.
And it is a plan with an endpoint, built in four phases: Pain, Prime, Perform, Prevent. Calm it down. Get the motion back. Build strength you actually trust. Then keep it gone. You will always know which phase you are in and what earns you the next one.
If you have been holding a household, a job, or both together while quietly working around this, you were not being lazy. You were busy holding everything else up. That is the whole reason it waited this long.
Another six months of working around it only teaches your body the workaround. Nobody regrets starting too early. Ask for Cindy when you schedule your appointment.
